Site Technician

The Site Technician is responsible for planning and execution of works (own works or subcontracted works) on one part of a large contract, a medium sized contract or a number of small contracts.

The Site Technician is responsible for planning and execution of works (own works or subcontracted works) on one part of a large contract, a medium sized contract or a number of small contracts. He will be primarily based on a building construction site and will be working for the main contractor. 

Duties

• To ensure areas are safe and ready for subcontractors to be given access timeously

• To ensure that the programmes of works as given by the Site Engineer/Site Manager is followed on a day to day basis

• To draw internal and short term programmes for all sections, including subconcontractors

• To closely monitor progress and take neccessary measures to ensure progress does not fall behind programme

• To participate regularly in coordination meetings
• To comply with the Company's QA System
• To ensure no avoidable costs are incurred
• To check quantity of materials delivered are as per delivery notes received
• To check quality of materials received are as ordered

Qualifications

Diploma in Civil Engineering

Preferred Experience

• At least three years in similar position or equivalent position in the Construction Sector (building)
