Senior Manager - Compliance

Coordination and communication are the key functions of the Sr Manager Compliance with regard to planning, implementing, and monitoring the compliance program.

 

  • Implementing written policies, procedures, and standards of conduct;
  • Establishing a compliance, controls and risk committee;
  • Developing effective lines of communication;
  • Enforcing standards through well-publicized disciplinary guidelines and developing policies addressing dealings with sanctioned individuals, states, countries etc;
  • Conducting periodic risk assessments and response plans;
  • Conducting internal monitoring and auditing;
  • Responding promptly to detected offenses, developing corrective action, and reporting findings to the Board via established channels;
  • Undertake all such activities as training, policies etc. for the organization to be sealed against any attempts of fraud or misappropriation or money laundering;
  • Conduct regular site visits to branches and offices and make a report;
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures are conducive for the business and that all customer care initiatives are being put in practice;
  • Overseeing and monitoring the implementation of the compliance program;
  • Developing strategies/initiatives to increase efficiency at all levels ;
  • Reporting on a regular basis to the Board on the progress of implementation, and assisting these components in establishing methods to improve efficiency and quality of services, and to reduce the vulnerability to fraud, abuse, and waste;
  • Periodically revising the program in light of changes in the needs of the organization, and in the law and policies and procedures of Government, FIU and Bank of Mauritius;
  • Responding to Government, FIU and BOM investigations and queries as the principal point of contact;
  • Independently investigating and acting on matters related to compliance, including the flexibility to design and coordinate internal investigations (e.g., responding to reports of problems, 'hot-line' calls, or suspected violations) and any resulting corrective actions with all departments;
  • Other cognate duties assigned by the Management.
