Role To maintain, be responsible for the bookkeeping and accounting work for a portfolio of prestigious clients. To provide assistance with supervisory tasks and projects as and when required.

 

Responsibilities

 

Client Services:

  • Maintenance of bookkeeping and accounting for a portfolio of prestigious clients;
  • Attend to audit queries and liaise with auditors and ensure finalisation of audit within relevant deadlines;
  • Maintain a schedule of investments for a portfolio of Funds
  • Maintain and update the list of properties held by client entities per jurisdiction;  
  • Think laterally and creatively to find solutions for clients and, where necessary, seek expert advice in order to implement agreed changes;
  • Implement agreed strategies and ensure adherence to the MC’s policies and procedures;
  • Ensuring tax filing and tax compliance for the portfolio of clients;
  • Handle tax inquiries, schedule meetings with tax advisors/clients/ intermediaries, attend phone calls and subsequent follow-ups;

 

General

 

  • Timely maintenance of daily time sheets and achieve budgeted utilisation targets;
  • Maintenance of accounts tracker and achieve budgeted accounts production targets;
  • Liaise with key partners i.e. MRA, FSC, auditors and key providers in the financial services industry;
  • Ensure that all the tax filings are done in a timely manner;
  • Undertake adhoc tasks, carry out duties including projects and delegated responsibilities.

Compliance and Regulation

 

  • Maintain an awareness of the legal and regulatory framework within which the MC operates;
  • Understand and apply the MC’s compliance policies and procedures in respect of sanctions, AML and Anti-Bribery. Report suspicious transactions and complaints in accordance with the procedures and guide colleagues if needed;
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of the company’s policies and procedures, ensuring they are adhered to in the course of day to day activities;
  • Work with management to develop appropriate processes and procedures.

System

  • Adhere properly to the systems in place.

Training and Development

  • Maintain a high level of technical knowledge and apply this to the day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting of the MC’s clients;
  • Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues;
  • Ensure that you meet the MC’s policy on CPD requirements.

 

Profile

  • Fully or partly qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA)
  • 3-5 years accounting experience in the Global Business sector
  • Knowledgeable about IFRS
  • Well-versed in Tax and Tax Computations
  • Well-developed communication skills and technical abilities necessary to meet business needs and achieve the highest professional standards.
  • Dynamic, self-motivated, thorough, well-organised and ready to work flexible hours

 

Remuneration is negotiable and commensurate to experience and qualifications
