RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media sent off site as necessary.
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs.
• Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
• Assist in the day to day running and administration of all IT infrastructure, including networking and security
• Design and implementation of new solutions and improving resilience of the current environment
• Effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
• Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
• Contribute to and maintain system standards.
EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
• Candidates should have relevant academic software engineering degree(s) and/or certification(s).
• Professional certifications will be an advantage (Microsoft, VMWARE)
• Knowledge of Enterprise Antivirus Solutions
• Knowledge of server backup procedures and software
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Good communication skills
• At least 2 years of experience in similar position
• Driver’s license (Manual Gearbox)
