Our client is seeking to recruit a Purchasing Officer.

 

Responsibilities

To manage the supply chain of products: shipment, freight, customs, forwarding to store and ensuring product availability without overstock.
Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them in order to determine product availability and terms of sales.
Taking, placing and following orders for raw materials, consumables and equipment for the Company.
To ensure timely and efficient supplies of raw materials to meet production targets.
Proactively liaising between suppliers, relevant authorities and staff to resolve purchasing supply issues, ensuring an accurate and timely provision of supplies.
To make raw material consumption forecast according to existing production level, past consumption levels and future orders so that there is no disruption in production due to unavailability of raw materials.
Accurately maintaining the Company purchasing databases to high standards.
Monitoring and reviewing purchasing budgets, undertaking cost/budget analysis, highlighting cost changes to management to assist with supplier choice.
Negotiating with suppliers to obtain the best deal for individual products or longer term discount agreements.
To develop and maintain a good relationship with the supplier and that payment are done according to the agreed credit term.
Other related duties as assigned.

Profile
Holder of a Bachelor Degree or any other relevant qualification.
At least 2 years experience as Purchasing Officer.
Numerical and administrative skills for accurate order processing, supplier evaluation and technical data entry.
IT skills, user ability with M/S Office (Word, Excel), the internet and any other relevant software.
Excellent communication skills to build and maintain good relationships with suppliers and liaise effectively with management and staff.
Ability to produce concise and accurate costing reports for analysis.
Good team and organizational skills.
Self-starter / autonomy.
