The United Basalt Products Ltd is seeking to recruit a passionate, dynamic and proactive Production Manager.

 

Key responsibilities

Production Management

  • Ensure production targets are met in terms of quality, quantity and delivery time
  • Ensure optimum use of machinery across the production sites
  • Optimize resources and avoid wastages
  • Manage stock and flows in order to avoid out-of-stock situations through adequate planning
  • Review and revisit processes for optimal efficiency and effectiveness
  • Monitor production Key Performance Indicator and ensure timely corrective actions

 People Management

  • Lead Line Managers of all production sites and provide both technical and management assistance in achieving targets (production, profitability, efficiency, etc …).
  • Ensure structured learning  & development initiatives are undertaken for capability building and succession planning
  • Work together with Line managers towards total employee engagement

 Financial Management

  •  Set, manage and monitor overall Production budgets
  • Monitor strategic reports (finance, HR, payroll, marketing, sales) to advise on remedial actions
  • Participate in the negotiation of contracts and tenders to achieve business objectives
  • Actively participate in investment calculations & decisions

 Quality Management

  • Design, implement and monitor quality control standards across all production units
  • Keep abreast of innovative methods for improving performance and reducing costs

 Customer Service

  •  Ensure proper tracking system is in place for measuring customer satisfaction
  • Monitor customer satisfaction level on regular basis and initiate corrective measures

 

Candidate profile

  • Master or Bachelor degree in Engineering or Operations Management.  Candidates with lower qualifications but with substantial experience in a similar post or closely related to the above activities will also be considered.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in operations management, manufacturing, engineering and/or onsite production is essential.
  • Proficient in MS Office and CRM software among others is desirable
  • Strong leadership capabilities and integrity with an ability to manage a large team
  • An innovative and creative problem solver with high interpersonal and communication skills
  • ‘Can Do’ Attitude, Entrepreneurial Ability and sound Business Acumen are critical for this position
  • Flexible, pro-active and displaying high commitment to company objectives
