Oversee the functions of marketing communications and public relations of the Resort, to achieve mass media coverage and revenue.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

FINANCIAL RETURNS

 

· Develop the marketing and public relations programme for the Resort based on its marketing goals. Liaise with Sales targeting specific markets and develop the marketing and public relations strategies to reach these markets.

· Establish sales leads from the study of magazines, newspapers and form personal contacts; coordinate sales leads with Banqueting and Sales Departments.

· Ensure all marketing and communications adhere to brand standards and guidelines across all forms, in print collaterals and online.

· Monitor & maintain budgetary control over PR and marketing expenditures; prepare summaries for program tracking.

 

PEOPLE

· Educate and train team members in compliance with brand standards, service behaviours, and governmental regulations. Ensure staff has the tools, training, and equipment to carry out job duties.

· Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Ensure appropriate staffing levels based on guest volume. Interact with outside contacts: Guests, Vendors, and other contacts as needed.

· Recommend and/or initiate salary, disciplinary, or other staffing/human resources-related actions in accordance with hotel or company rules and policies.

GUEST EXPERIENCE

· Oversee hotel photography, videography and filming requests.

· Responsible for all resort marketing and communication materials such as amenities, collaterals and other print and online materials, in adherence to brand standards and guidelines.

· Identify and develop partnership, events and sponsorship opportunities to position the Resort in the right markets to the right audience.

· Develop media contacts and relations, plan press events, media familiarisation stays, and other press activities. Monitor, track and document all media coverage from the news generated.

· Develop and organize promotional activities, coordinate with departments concerned; invite VIPs and media to promotional activities; prepare and issue press releases and alerts of news, offers and packages of Resort, its restaurants and bars and spa.

· Establish a programme for sending promotional news to trade publications on a regular basis covering special events, promotions, etc.

· Prepare promotional press releases on personalities among guests and employees of the Resortand on newsworthy events happening in the Resort.

· Work with Rooms division to provide guests with information (example: loyalty programmes, area attractions, restaurants, facility information) to enhance guest experience.

· Provide information to other departments on activities within and outside the Resortwhich may be useful when dealing with guests.

RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS

· Read the Resort’s employee handbook and have an understanding of and adhere to the Resort’s rules and regulation and in particular, the policies and procedures related to fire, hygiene, health and safety.

· Develop awareness and reputation of the Resortand the brand in the local community.

PERFORM OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED. MAY ALSO SERVE AS MANAGER ON DUTY.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's Degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in hospitality or related field, and 4+ years total experience in a marketing communications or related field, with direct supervisory experience over marketing communications, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Must speak local language(s).Other languages preferred

 

Technical skills and knowledge :

 

· Self motivated, hungry for a challenge, and looking to make an immediate impact.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills with good media connections.

· Strong marketing experience and knowledge, preferably in hospitality and tourism.

· Demonstrated project management experience in organising, planning and executing marketingprojects and events from conception through to implementation and evaluation.

· Experience of managing multiple stakeholders - internal, external, global, brand, agency, etc.

· In depth knowledge of marketing principles and concepts and demonstrated creative problem solving ability and demonstrated creative thinking skills.

· Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Photoshop skills will be a plus

· Strong communication skills in English. Local language and source market language a plus

· Team Player and excellent interpersonal skills
