Our client, in the investment and financial sector, is looking for a Director of Wealth International (Mauritius) - Compliance Officer/MLRO/Office Control Compliance/Operational Roles.

The successful candidate will be responsible for both the delivery of client services and completion of all day to day operational procedures during the businesses infancy.

Main responsibilities:

  • Ensuring appropriate monitoring of operational performance and managing regulatory and compliance risk within the business. 
  • Liaising with CO/Director of Operations abroad, in relation to day to day operational and compliance matters.
  • Monitoring that the internal policies and procedures are being consistently and effectively adhered to. 
  • Assessing, and recommending amendments to, internal systems and controls to the group CO/Director of Operations, as well as policies and procedures to facilitate compliance with the regulatory framework; and AML legislation locally in Mauritius.
  • Working with 3rd part compliance Consultancy Company to complete quarterly compliance monitoring programme and addressing any deficiencies in processes or application.
  • Providing senior management and the board of directors of the business with regular written reports in respect of the compliance with the requirements of the regulations.
  • Acting as the principal point of contact with The Commission on day-to-day regulatory matters.
  • The CO/MLRO Principal role also has the responsibility of implementing, monitoring and reporting upon the efficiency of all internal procedures necessary to ensure compliance by Wealth International with the legislative and regulatory requirements for Anti Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism.
  • Ensuring necessary policies, procedures, training and education provisions for staff are in place and up to date;
  • Policy is developed and maintained in line with evolving statutory and regulatory obligations and experience/advice from enforcement agencies;
  • All parts of Wealth International are complying with the stated AML policy and procedures and is therefore monitoring operations and development of the policy to this end;
  • Anti-Money laundering training is undertaken by all staff in line with the stated policy.
  • To run the office and ensure it is administered coherently. This may involve liaising with CO abroad on HR issues.
