Chief Engineer

• Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree in an Engineering field • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical and or mechanical engineering, with at least one year in the hospitality field. • Must possess a current license as an Operating Engineer.

1. Assist in the hiring, training, supervision, scheduling, counselling, and evaluation of performance and planning the activities of maintenance staff including making spot checks on a daily basis
2. Ensure proper execution of work order/request system and that items are followed up on when necessary.
3. Prepare requisitions for purchase and work orders and liaise effectively with the Director of Purchasing.
4. Implement preventive maintenance schedules, policies and rules to ensure an efficient department.
5. Maintain logs on movement of stock items and tools and monitor distribution of items.
6. Comply with and enforce Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact.
7. Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
8. Ensure that meter readings are taken daily on heat, light and review information to evaluate consumption.
9. Actively support the Safety Committee.
10. Support the energy conservation program allowing the hotel to meet its annual budget targets.
11. Maintain close working relations with hotel contractors who furnish reliable 24 hour emergency service.
12. Assist with maintenance of all fire-fighting equipment in first class order and ensure that emergency procedures are understood and practiced by hotel staff.
